Self-guided routes with cycling distances of 10 to 35 miles a day. Routes are graded easy and easy to moderate, and most are circular Detailed maps are included with notes of places of interest including cafes and picnic spots. Luggage is transferred between hotels. English reps available in the most popular destinations. The company particularly recommends the Loire where they can accommodate all ages of children. Emergency back-up available, but you will need to know how to repair a puncture.

Small, family-run hotels of around two to three stars, usually with very good evening meal provided. Can upgrade to more prestigious hotels for special occasions.

Bikes

Touring bikes with 10-18 gears, depending on area, are provided. Repair kit is provided, helmet hire costs extra. Tag along bikes, chariots, child seats and suitable sized bikes for older children available in the Loire. Tag alongs also available in the Dordogne and Provence. You are also welcome to bring the children's own bikes.

Sample Price

Seven nights' B&B in the Loire high season based on two sharing is £689 per adult self-drive, £729 including channel ferry or £849 via Eurostar. Price includes 2-3 evening meals. Child prices: 3 and under £100; 4 to 11 years: half the brochure price if sharing room with adults; 12 to15 years £100 reduction on the holiday price. For a family room the first child is half the brochure price and the second child would get a discount of a £100. Reductions for use of own bike.
