Style
Guided tours in groups of up to 15 (which may divide) with one or two guides.. Luggage is transported and “nobody is ever left behind”. Routes are designed for those with a reasonable level of fitness. Guide repairs bikes if there are any problems. Evening activities particularly focus on sampling local cuisine.
Accommodation
Good two and three-star three-star hotels all en suite, including evening meals.
Age accepted
Around 12 (though have had 10-year-olds) because of distance cycled.
Bikes provided
Trek 7300 FX Hybrids good quality 24 gear hybrid bikes) and a variety of road bikes. Helmets are also provided (though prefer if bring own), along with waterproofs, panniers and water bottles.
Where
In France: the Dordogne, Bordeaux, Provence, Burgundy and the Loire Valley. In Italy: Tuscany and Umbria.
Dates
Departures from May to early October for seven days.
Sample Price
Price £940 per person, £1080 for Italian tours (Tuscany) including accommodation, airport transfers and meals (except lunch). Excludes transport.
