Style

There is a system of symbols to give an idea of what is on offer. These include one for ‘accommodation which stands out for its charm, view, location etc (around 10%), another indicating particularly comfortable beds, whether there is a dishwasher a washing machine, fenced garden or grounds, if gas, electricity and water are to be paid for locally, etc. Around 10% are allocated a red cock symbol indicating particular charm, good location, view etc. The best are listed under the Les Manoirs category. About a third have a pool, either shared or private. Around 10% offer a dishwasher, around a quarter a washing machine, which may be shared. At around a half gas, electricity and water may be payable extra, locally.

A cot is available at around a quarter of properties, payable locally. Around 10% of properties have fenced grounds making them safe for children.

Maid service may be available at around a quarter of properties.

One of seven apartments with shared pool in Chianti with two bedrooms and cot available would cost £837 for the first week in high season, £760 for subsequent weeks. Prices include a Channel crossing, or fly-drive can be arranged.
