 If you are unsure where to go there are a number of pre-planned routes in the area including:
 The Toy Road (Die Spielzeugstrasse), drawing on the country's traditions of toy making going by toy workshops, show rooms, musems and theme parks, running brom Nuremberg via Coburg to Thuringia.
 The Castle Road (Die Burgenstrase) runs from Mannheim to Rothenburg ob der Tauber, Nuremberg, Bayreuth and Prague past around 70 fortresses, castles and palaces.
 The German Alpine Road (Die Deutsche Alpenstrasse) runs from Lindau on Lake Constance to the Berchtesgaden national Park along 450 particularly scenic kilometres.
